BOSNIA REFUGEE’S CAMP OF BIHAC Bihac – Bosnia and Herzegovina – February 2019 – Bihac is a small rural town in northwest Bosnia and Herzegovina, located a few kilometers from the Croatian border, the start of the Schengen area. For some time now Bihac has been on the road to the Balkans, « the new migrant’s way » that has gone for the most part of the Middle East, fleeing conflicts and politico-economic situations that are very unstable. But on their way, already very complicated, they found themselves stuck on the Croatian border, entry of the European Union, few are the migrants to succeed to join Slovenia, the Croatian police watch and repress hard the candidates to the passage before send them back to Bosnia. They are therefore several thousand to find themselves stuck in this border town to Croatia. To accommodate all these people a camp run by IOM, the international organization for migrants, opened in an old appliance factory. Tents and container fill the large warehous, more than 3,000 people would be currently in Bira camp, many Afghans from Pakistan, Syrian. The camp is divided into three zones, one for single men, and another for single minors, mainly boys, and the last for families. The lone men constitute the majority of the inhabitants of the camp of Bira. The camp is guarded day and night by a private security company, each migrant must present his ID card of the camp to go in and out, eat, see the doctor, who is sleeping where. This card is issued by IOM staff, who lists all names for organizational, efficiency and security reasons. In the refectory of the old factory, every day three meals are served by members of the Red Cross of Bihac. Daily a doctor assures permanence in the camp, and the Bosnian red cross is assured in one of the tents first aid. Sometimes some people come to bring clothing and food, but they are few. The time between attempts to pass little proved long, they take the opportunity to rest, play, and phone their loved ones. This
