Shadow City x Farr Festival w/ Job Jobse + Avalon Emerson The Rainbow Venues 17 février 2017 22:00 - 18 février 2017 06:00
Ma Dahu (Farr Festival)
Shadow City Soundsystem
Back for our 7th year, we’re delighted to share with you our first event of 2017. Once again, we’re teaming up with Farr Festival to bring you two of the finest selectors on the circuit.
Heading up the party is none other than Job Jobse. After learning the ropes at Amsterdam’s legendary club 11, Job began his adventure into electronic music with an internship at the renowned Innervisions label in Berlin. After moving back to Amsterdam to work as the booker of Trouw, things went uphill very fast. Job currently holds his own successful residency at the famous club – Drukpers, the first party ever held at the venue – and is also active as the label manager for the popular Life and Death label. Most recently, he has been holding it down as the king of De School, playing alongside the likes of Midland, Ben UFO, Joy Orbison, Gerd Janson, Dixon, KiNK and many many more.
With all Job has achieved so far and a current heavy touring schedule, including appearances spanning from Burning Man to Panorama Bar, one can only wonder where he will go next.
Our second guest is Avalon Emerson. Avalon is from the desert. While she currently lives in Berlin, the music she produces comes from the dreamlike expanse and abstract textures of the Sonoran landscapes of Arizona. Her journey has taken her from that sunbaked state to the contemporary dance music mecca via a long stint in San Francisco, where she cut her teeth as a DJ in the city’s storied warehouse party scene.
In her DJ sets and productions now, she offers a timeless narrative that reflects a passion for the sound design of new wave, the futurism of techno, the soul of American house and the exuberance of rave. Though she’s built up steam in 2015 from multiple sets at Panorama Bar, and globetrotting all around Europe and North America, she’s just getting started, and continues to outdo herself with original productions released on Whities, Shtum, Spring Theory, and Icee Hot, and her own DJ tool edit pool, the Cybernedits series.
