Instructions for American Servicemen In Britain, 1 novembre 2016 20:00, Widcombe Social Club
An instant hit when it previewed and a sell out last year, The Real MacGuffins return with the touring show!
“The British don’t know how to make a good cup of coffee. You don’t know how to make a good cup of tea. It’s an even swap.”
It’s 1942 and a horde of Yankee servicemen have just arrived in England – where the locals speak a strange dialect, boil all their food, and talk endlessly about the weather.
The Americans see the Brits as a strange race. Get ready to judge for yourself in a night of joyous laughter and downright silliness as a crack team of experts attempt to explain the rules of British life, featuring everything from cricket, warm beer and ha’pennies to Sunday afternoons in the country.. A rib-tickling show for all ages.
“Wholly idiotic, inducing a helpless laughter that almost incapacitates the audience… an unforgettable experience.” **** The Stage
“Packed with puns and innuendo, the slickness and pace of this brilliant group made it great fun for all age groups… A thoroughly entertaining evening.” **** Essential Surrey
The Real MacGuffins have proved a crowd favourite at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival since 2010 playing sell-out shows to critical acclaim. Their highly energetic, interactive comedy delights audiences both young and old – with a mix of wordplay, good (and some bad) old fashioned jokes and physical comedy, there is something for everyone.
Fol Espoir are the creators of ‘Winston On the Run’ (***** WhatsOnStage) and ‘Dr Brown Because’ (**** The Times, The Sunday Times, Time Out).
